Saturday Competition

Saturday golf is the club’s main golf day, open to all club members and visitors alike. Tee off times being 8.00 am and 12.00 pm. There is no need to book tee times. Arrive at least 30 minutes beforehand, and the Starters will match you up, with the field getting underway over 5 starting holes.  

Following the round, adjourn upstairs to the Clubhouse, to join in with the club camaraderie, for a well-deserved drink with snack food available. Prize giving generally gets underway at 5.30 pm. 

Please note, we encourage digital scoring on Saturday competitions.

Ladies Day Tuesday

A significant number of Ladies play competition golf on a Tuesday. For 18 holes, tee off is at 10:00 am and 11.15 am for 9 holes. Arrive 30 minutes before tee off and register at the Office. Food, tea and coffee is available upstairs after the competition. 

Prizegiving is held once everyone is in and results completed. 

Wednesday Sheet Start

Wednesday sees a relaxed competition, with your own organised groups. Write your name on the competition sheet, pay your entry fee and tee off at a time that suits you and your group. Results will be posted on the club’s website. 

Twilight

A Stableford competition is held every Wednesday evening during summer’s daylight-saving months, making the most of Invercargill’s long twilight hours. Played over 13 holes, form your own group, enter on the competition sheet, pay your entry fee and tee off. 

At the end of the round, adjourn upstairs to the Clubhouse to settle the haggle and enjoy a meal and a yarn with the usual banter.  

There is a weekly prizegiving, and a cumulative competition runs for the summer, based on your top twelve rounds over the summer. 

Quick Sixes

Quick 6’s is an innovative and fun introduction to golf for those who are just learning and don’t have a handicap. Played during daylight saving months, Quick 6’s tee off from 6.00pm on a Wednesday evening, and as the name suggests is played over 6 holes. It is designed to finish about the same time as the 13-hole Twilight competition, which then allows the Quick 6’s to come upstairs to the Clubhouse for a drink and a meal and join in on the Club camaraderie.

Sunday Golf

There are regular mixed foursomes played on the first Sunday of each month, with tee off at 11.30 am. The bar is open for prizegiving and food is available.
